I posted this morning that today was the day to lower the boom on some of my 3-year-old’s behaviors (arguing, whining, and so on). One behavior that I did not tolerate today was him hitting something, like the floor, when he was angry about something. This behavior started less than a week ago and it seems that ignoring it has only made it more of a problem.
It is 7 p.m. and he has just one “ticket” left. He knows that losing this last ticket results in confinement to his room for the rest of the day (or, sometimes, a good portion of the next morning). Wonder of wonders, ever since he has been down to just one ticket, he has been a delight to be around.
